The history of our SAMAJAM starts with a story of compassion. Today’s Gokula Samajam Charitable Trust is the brainchild of K.Raghunathan who has started serving the public selflessly since 1974 in a very subtle way and within his means under the auspicious blessings of Goddess Anandavalli Thayar.
 
The main intention of Gokula Samajam is to help the deserving people without my caste, color or creed for their livelihood in the form of providing the following at free of cost:
 
  • Quality food to the poor especially to the patients in the public hospitals and destitute persons on a daily basis.
  • Promote institutions such as orphanages, widow homes, lunatic asylums for relief or held to the old and infirm people and/or destitute.
  • Render help and assistance in cash or kind to poor and destitute persons or widows etc
  • Render help and assistance to the persons affected by the natural and other calamities such as flood, fire, famine, cyclone, earthquake, storm, accident, drought, epidemic, etc.
  • Help and assist to meet help traveling, boarding and lodging expenses for students going to abroad for higher education and render help to poor children by providing text books, note books and stationery.
  • Grant ,pay or give scholarships, stipends, prizes rewards and the other financial assistance to students in pursuing their studies in schools, colleges, technical institutions, art schools or other training, research or educational works in India or abroad.
  • Promote, assist and maintain all activities by whosever carried out or whenever carried out in India in conformity with the objects of the trust
  • Renovate or repair any temple, mosque, gurudwara, church or other places notified by the Central government in Official gazette to be of historic archaeological or artistic importance or to be a place of public worship.
  • Help the preservation of cattle and useful animals.
  • Help people to perform rites to their ancestors in a clean environment.
 
The ardent tasks have been carried out by volunteers of Gokula Samajam without self-interest.
